What is the difference between LiFePO4 and ternary battery BMS

The difficulty of LiFePO4 BMS is lower than that of ternary battery. There are two main power battery options in the market: 1) ternary Battery + efficient Battery Management System BMS, 2) lithium iron phosphate battery + relatively simple battery management system. The energy density of ternary battery is higher, but its safety performance is slightly poor. It is easy to have safety problems in overcharge and overdischarge. The capacity of ternary single battery is small and the number is large. BMS plays a key role when the inconsistency of cells is not good enough. In other words, to solve the safety problem of ternary battery, not only depends on the improvement of cell quality, but also depends on BMS technology. Taking catl square as an example, the capacity of its ternary battery is 6 ~ 42ah, while the capacity of lithium iron phosphate battery is 50 ~ 200ah. The larger the capacity of single battery, the less the number of single battery pack with the same capacity, the lower the technical difficulty of BMS. Tesla battery pack uses 18650 consumer cells, and its single capacity is only 8-10W. A battery contains more than 7000 single cells, so its BMS difficulty is self-evident.
